I had the best time in San Diego with my best friend. We took so many pictures. I want to show you how we saved big time with Restaurant.com coupons. We used them at every restaurant and we ate so well. I don’t know that I will ever eat again. I have talked about this many times and that is I love to spend money on really good food. It cost us on average after tax and tip about $10 each, but we were eating many times up to 3 courses during our lunch, which included things like Ahi Tuna and Salmon.
This is a great place for lunch, Lockwood Table in Salona Beach. Everything is fresh, local and organic. We had a Roasted Beet Salad, Hummus as our appetizer and a Portabella sandwich, with a small cucumber salad. We even had a few dollars to spend so we ended up getting something for dessert and we shared it. Remember with Restaurant.com coupons you need to spend $20 if you have a $10 gift certificate. It was tough to get both of us up to $20, that’s why we finally decided to get a dessert. This meal was closer to $7 each. We were stuffed after sharing all this. I give Lockwood Table 2 thumbs up!!
These next 3 pictures are all from Sbbica in Del Mar. This soup is a Shrimp and Lobster Bisque, we each had our own bowl. It was amazing!
This a smoked Salmon Crostini with Basil Brie Cheese, Capers, and Red Onion marmalade. My mouth is watering just reliving this moment.
I was so excited to try this Sear Ahi Tuna, Avacodo and Tomato Salad that I forgot to take a picture, but we managed to get one in at the last minute. In the upper left corner you can see a little container of tomato sauce. This a a tomato basil sauce that you put on your bread that they bring out to you before your meal. It was so good, I can’t even tell you. The best part about this restaurant was while we were eating the owner came out and we over heard him talking about his sister that just opened up a wine bar in Lake Oswego. It’s just about 15 minutes from my house, and yes I will be trying that out!!
There were many more places that we did visit and eat, including Inn n Out, but our last stop of the trip was to get a coffee before I boarded my plane. We stumbled upon Con Pane Rustic Bread and Cafe in Point Loma. I wanted my usual White Chocolate Mocha, but they didn’t have that. We saw they had butterscotch, but I don’t like butterscotch, but it was homemade, so I asked for a sample. It was so good, it tasted just like carmel. Can you see the butterscotch drizzled across the top? As we were waiting in line we passed by a cinnamon roll, and it so big and looked gooey, so we had to try it out just to be sure. It was very good and the coffee… a great way to end my foodie trip.

With the economy the way it is, it seems like everyone is cutting back and trying hard not to spend money aimlessly on things. I think this is great. This is something that many people have needed to do for years now. But with so many blogs out there filled with all types of money saving tips, which I too will share, there comes a point where you feel guilty buying something that you truly want or enjoy, but you need to know, it's ok to splurge every now and then.
