If you have spent any time on my site you know I am big into couponing. But you also need to know I am big into getting any good deal, with or without a coupon and saving money in any way.
I have decided to start a Tuesdays Tips where I will share a money saving tip that has nothing to do with coupons.
On certain products I know what the cut off is before the item is not longer good. For instance in this picture I have my Trader Joe’s Creamy Tomato Soup. I love these because you use what you want and store the rest for up to 7 days.
Before I stick it in the fridge I put MY expiration date on it, so I don’t have to think about what day it was that I opened it. If you look on the top you will see where I wrote in the date.
This has saved me from throwing away quite a few things. I also do this on cream cheese. What other things should you be doing this on?
Check out this Post for more things to watch before they expire. Check out more tips at Couponomic Stimulus Package and I am a Money Magnet.

With the economy the way it is, it seems like everyone is cutting back and trying hard not to spend money aimlessly on things. I think this is great. This is something that many people have needed to do for years now. But with so many blogs out there filled with all types of money saving tips, which I too will share, there comes a point where you feel guilty buying something that you truly want or enjoy, but you need to know, it's ok to splurge every now and then.

Thanks for linking up! What a great idea!
I’m sooo guilty of opening something and storing it in the fridge only to forget how long it’s been in there! I’ve tossed out a lot of stuff because of this! Thanks for the tip and thanks for linking to Thrifty Tip Tuesday!
