I have friends that ask me “Now what is it that you get for FREE? And HOW do you do that? Well it’s all about timing, and watching and carrying your coupons.
I have all my coupons filed away. Before I file away the insert I take out the coupons I know that I will use for sure. I have favorite toothpaste, certain hair products and certain foods. Honestly I don’t use a ton of food coupons out of the inserts because I don’t use a lot of processed foods, or pet foods or baby stuff. A few things in there I keep for the “perfect storm” if you will, when all the stars align and you can get stuff for dirt cheap.
With that in mind, I was carrying my shampoo coupons with me yesterday. I had printed off $2 off Suave Professionals. If you printed it, great, if not, it seems to be gone now. Try HERE and see if you can at least get $1 off. High Value coupons go fast. I also watch the Target Mark down schedule for deals.
Anyways, I had my $2 off Suave coupons and knew I was going to check again. I also had my $1 off 2 Target coupon for the same product. This week they were finally on sale. The small ones were $1.83, so I could have gotten those for FREE, but with so much overage I decided to purchase the larger 32oz ones for $2.73, since I would get $2.50 off each bottle, making each shampoo 23¢.
It’s all about timing and carrying the right coupons. I am looking at going to a binder, but not sure I am ready and not sure I really want to carry that BIG of an item. I am taking opinions on that now.
Also this week I got my 2 large Reusable bags from Fred Meyer for 50¢ each and I plan on getting a few more at that price. Other than that, I didn’t score a lot of great deals. But I am also doing pretty well with my stockpile. Waiting for another “perfect storm”.
RedPlum right now has some new coupons out for Hair care products. This is the time of year for all things to do with Proms and Formals, so load up on those things now.
Coupons.com also has some new coupons.

With the economy the way it is, it seems like everyone is cutting back and trying hard not to spend money aimlessly on things. I think this is great. This is something that many people have needed to do for years now. But with so many blogs out there filled with all types of money saving tips, which I too will share, there comes a point where you feel guilty buying something that you truly want or enjoy, but you need to know, it's ok to splurge every now and then.

I switched to a binder about a year ago and I would never go back. I love having everything in front of me and easily accessible at all times for those great “star aligning” moments. I keep my binder in a large purse/satchel bag that I carry when I shop. It’s literally my binder, the ads, and my wallet in there. It looks huge, but it does the job. The bag sits in the baby seat part and I prop the binder open on top of it like a table. Muy bueno.
Did you purchase your own and put it together or did you order one of these specially made ones? There are days where I wish I had it, but I always carry my little holder everywhere I go and I can’t imagine carrying the binder everywhere.
