I actually put this tip up just a few months ago. You need to know when you buy something so you can see how long it lasts. I have done this on a number of things and I just wanted to report in.
First off I must say, I do coupon and I love finding good deals, but I do NOT like to chase Toilet paper deals, dish washing detergent and meat, just to name a few. I would rather go to Costco, buy a huge pack and be done, and that is exactly what I do.
Just last week I was cleaning out underneath my kitchen sink. (Don’t confuse me with a neat freak, we had sprung a leak and it needed fixed.) I pulled out my 2 huge containers of Electrasol dishwasher tablets. I always cut these in half because I was told my a repair man that one whole one was way too much. I have 2 huge costco size containers because I had a B1G1 Free coupon. I had put my purchase date on there. It was June 26th. I am almost done with one container and ready to start another.
All that to say, I probably did plunk down $13 for these 2 containers, but I won’t have to look for deals for this or have to even think about buying these for at least another year.
If you haven’t already, go back and read my original post and let me know, what things do you purchase and date?

With the economy the way it is, it seems like everyone is cutting back and trying hard not to spend money aimlessly on things. I think this is great. This is something that many people have needed to do for years now. But with so many blogs out there filled with all types of money saving tips, which I too will share, there comes a point where you feel guilty buying something that you truly want or enjoy, but you need to know, it's ok to splurge every now and then.

Saran wrap from Costco 750 square feet lasted 1 yr 7 mos. Helps me justify spending more at a time than buying a small, cheap package of stuff that I don’t think works as well.
That is another great one I could handle not shopping for. Thanks for the tip!!!
I’m so glad that you’ve posted about this again! I love the idea of putting the dates on for stocking up and forgot about it! I just bought t.p. so I’ll do that starting today!!!
