This was quite a stretch for me! So if I can do it, anyone can. I saw this t-shirt redo on a post last week and was so excited about the possibility that I started digging through my closet immediately for the perfect shirt.
I couldn’t find a shirt right away to do the project with but I did find, 2 baby doll tank tops I had bought last year on clearance, for $1.50 each. You know how I promote buying clothes in the off season? Well, its still a good idea, just don’t wait until the middle of August to dig them out.
Not only that I found a pair of shorts I had bought in May. Alright enough about my lost clothing and bad memory..
I finally found a shirt that I could redo. Sorry about the pics, since I have not done anything like this I wasn’t set up with a good place to hang them. But you will get the idea.
I took this t-shirt cut the neck out to make it bigger, then cut it down the middle left.
Then I tied a knot on the inside. I sewed the ends down to keep them from flying around, and wha la, there it is. A brand new shirt, in style even, and it was FREE.
Side Note: I just looked up wha la to make sure I spelled it correctly, and I did. I also learned it’s a bastardized english version of the French word “voila” meaning “there it is”, often used by morons in an attempt to sound more intelligent.
Alright, now you have a craft to try and a little education. Your welcome.
The fact that this wasn’t a fail is a Finer Thing in life.
Looking for other ways to redo an old t-shirt, check out my friends blog. She made one into a tank and one into panties (you know you want to see that one).
If you did something crafty this week leave your link in the comments. I like seeing what others are up to.

With the economy the way it is, it seems like everyone is cutting back and trying hard not to spend money aimlessly on things. I think this is great. This is something that many people have needed to do for years now. But with so many blogs out there filled with all types of money saving tips, which I too will share, there comes a point where you feel guilty buying something that you truly want or enjoy, but you need to know, it's ok to splurge every now and then.

Great job, I really want to try this one.
I am soooo not crafty, but that is a super cute shirt!
I did it! My shirt looks SO much cuter! Thank you for the inspiration!!
I would love to see a picture of it. It was so easy wasn’t it?
Amy, I am so NOT crafty I actually cut it wrong and still salvaged it.
This is so great! So simple and easy! Thanks for sharing.
