When the Sun Shines in Oregon…

…there is no place I’d rather be.  Today was another beautiful day in the NW, and we Oregonians know that if it’s sunny you get outside, it might not be sunny tomorrow.  I pulled a few weeds and began to survey my land again.  Well ok, I began to survey my small space my house sits on in our bedroom community.

Just last week I got my newest Better Homes and Gardens and I was excited to see an article in there for mixing your flower garden with your vegetable garden.  Not only combining them, but how to do it to make it look pretty.  I have sat at my dining room table looking at the much larger space I now have for my vegetable garden.  My mind has been racing and just like every year at spring I begin to plan my garden with all my favorite things.  So this year I am doing a combined garden.  I will pass along any tips I learn, secrets I have and ideas to make use of a small space.  Everyone can have a garden.  Your very own produce, for very little cost, and a whole lot of reward.

So where ever you are, whether sunny or still covered with snow, take the time to check out Better Homes and Gardens website.  They cover everything you can think of.  They have all the different flowers, veggies, soil checks and even regional planting schedules and what plants you can grow in your area.

Alright, off to daydream some more about my summer garden….
