50 Plates Portland, Oregon

My niece came to visit this weekend. She had never been to Portland, so I did my best to give her a great tour of our fabulous city.  Once the rain stopped, of course it rained, we made our way down to the Pearl.  I really wanted to show her some fun places to shop, but also some of Portland’s great places to eat.

We made our way to 50 plates in the Pearl.  I love this place.  Not only is it a great place to eat, but it’s done so well on the inside, you just want to stay awhile.  50 Plates offers small plates and large plates, so it’s a great place to go if you want to share so you can try lots of different things.

I already knew before I even go there that I was going to order the Ahi Tuna Wrap.  My niece decided she wanted one too.  When we went to order the gal told us it was quite large and easily could be split between the 2 of us.  So we decided to order it with Patrick Fries and thought if we were still hungry we could order more.  We didn’t stop just with that.  I really wanted her to try a Roscoe.

The Roscoe, how do you describe the Roscoe?  It’s a waffle with a fried chicken breast sandwiched in between topped with coffee maple syrup.  Right before you take a bite you add spicy mustard to it.  Talk about a festival of flavors in your mouth, this concoction is to die for!!  I was pleased to find that my niece found it just as enjoyable.

Sure enough with those 3 things we were stuffed.  Best part, when the check came it was only $16.  Love this place.
