I Love to Laugh

I do love to laugh EXCEPT when I have a 7 in incision running NE to SW across my tummy.  Then…laughing is not all it’s cracked up to be.  Hey, I’m back, well kind of.  If you didn’t notice I was gone, just don’t tell me, if you did from my previous post, then you know I just had major back surgery and I am well on my way to becoming the next bionic women.

I know it’s true that laughter is the best medicine, but for me not so much.  One thing I pride myself in is finding good deals and bargains and buying those items for a fraction of the price.  These days I sit on the couch and call people and just hope I have enough groceries to make it through to the next meal.

I was on the phone with my MIL and was telling her I needed bread (she was already at the store getting other things I needed.) I was agreeing to some of the things she was asking, but not sure about all of it.  The whole time my husband is in the kitchen talking, and apparently it was to me. I hung up with my MIL and my husband said, “great I will bring it right in.”

I just started laughing and told him I had no idea what he was bringing me, no idea what I had agreed to.  The poor guy has bent over backwards to make sure I am well taken care of.  I have no appetite because of all the pain meds, so he is constantly trying to get food down me.

Now I am like a little girl in church that shouldn’t be laughing, laughing all the harder.  I am trying to imagine what he might be bringing me.  Now he is trying hard not to make me laugh and I can hear him in the kitchen snickering.  I’m crying and yelling, “get out of here!”

So yes, I do love to laugh, just not so much these days.  A little giggle is good or a big smile, but the LOL is not my friend these days.  Bummer part is we laugh a lot at our house, so it’s been a “tough” recovery.

I do promise to try and get some deals up.  I have found some great clearance prices on activities that I want to share with you and I do want to share with you some great time and money savers from our Roller coaster trip.   I also need to go through the ads and put a post of my own personal shopping list.

For now that is a Thing I love Thursday, Finer Things Friday

  1. Glad you are back! And I’m dying of curiosity, what did your husband bring you?

  2. Luckily for me, it was Cherries. Apparently I had chose that from a list of things. LOL
