T-shirts make the wardrobe go a long ways, and they are affordable.
Yesterday was a good shopping day for me. First off I hate shopping, so it’s good if it’s a quick in and out and if it’s cheap. So as I was saying, yesterday was a good shopping day for me.
I have talked about back to school shopping for the kids, but we as adults need to replenish our stash from time to time as well. I am a big fan of buying cheaper clothing and changing it out as opposed to buying quality at double or triple the price and having it last way longer than I ever hoped.
Now, let me back up and say I think some clothing needs to be cheaper. Like t-shirts. White t-shirts, to be exact, get discolored in the pits well before the shirt wears out. Why on earth would I spend over $20 for a white t-shirt if that is guaranteed to happen. That and a basic white t-shirt looks the same no matter what the tag says. Sorry, but it’s true.
Yesterday I made my way into TJ Maxx, I do love that store, I bought 3 t-shirts that had a cute cut to them for $6.99 each. I liked the style so well I got it in 3 different colors. The nice thing is these t-shirts layer well. You can add a colored tank under it or add a scooped neck sweater/sweatshirt over it. You can also add a long sleeved white shirt under them as you move into the fall and winter.
So without further ado, here is the Affordable, Versatile T-Shirt:
Now all I need is my jeans to go along with my t-shirts, and I am in luck, as Target has just put out a new coupon for jeans, plus other clothing. Head on over and check it out. Thanks for the heads up on that Thrifty NW Mom.
I LOVE T-shirts for this very reason. Actually, I buy all short-sleeved shirts and then in the winter I just layer it with a sweater or sweatshirt. I do this for my kids too, it’s fewer clothes to buy that way and our family is almost always hot at other people’s homes anyway!
