The 4 Minute Workout

The Number 1 New Years Resolution is to lose weight.  Don’t give up if you don’t have time, check this out.

Get fit in just 4 minutes a day?  Is it possible?  Well read on about what I found.  If you have a day that you are short on time, this might not be a bad idea.

I was reading through my Fitness Magazine (that I grabbed at a killer price) and it mentioned Tabata, which is a 4 minute workout.  Intrigued I began to research this Tabata.

Let me preface this whole thing with I think we need to be working out on a regular basis because of all the health benefits.

I also am a firm believer that not one thing will work for everyone and you will need to continue your daily walks or runs or whatever it is that you do.

The concept of Tabata is this::
– 5 minutes of warmup
– 4 minutes or 8 intervals of 20 seconds all-out intensity exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest
– 2 minutes cool down

As suggested some of the best ways to do this is with some kind of equipment or even an exercise like step ups that requires nothing as opposed to weights.

For more ideas check out Tabata here.  It’s hard to do Tabata without a timer and this is the Stopwatch for Tabata .  The reason it works so well is they vibrate when you should start and stop allowing you to exercise your hardest for 20 minutes without having to watch a clock.

Best part of this is you can do some kind of exercise without having to purchase anything.  You could even do step ups on your stairs if you had too.  So basically to start, there is NO purchase necessary. I think the Stopwatch for Tabata would be handy and about the only thing you would really need.
